Something I have learned from the pro's, try not to shoot the whole flower or shoot so you can crop it correctly. I used my standard lens 18-55, which allows you to get 10 inches from the subject with my new 10.5 mp Canon.

Thank you. It was very gratifying. All the juried photos were on display for the public for three days, so a lot of people got see some great stuff.

Hi Denise. I'm glad you had a ball with Kathy!
I'm off for an AWA tour for a week. When I get back I'll try and nail down dates with Journey's International. I know they sort of want to get it planned as well. It would be so great to get you to come!
I'll get in touch when I'm back. - Wayde

    Hi Denise!
Yes the trip was amazing. Almost overwhelming in the diversity of subject matter.
You would have loved it. It looks like I'm going to be leading more trips down there. You should seriously consider one. The lodges, the food, the critters, the people!
We spent nights in the cloud forest, under an active volcano, in the heart of the jungle, and on a beautiful coffee plantation. All in places worthy of being photographed themselves. Wonderful. Oh, and we got some nice photos too!
How was your time with Kathy? - Wayde

I hear you have a D300 how do you like it?
What lens do you have? I know you were using a D200 in Alaska. Is it a big diff? I know I love mine but I cant compair it to anything.

Thanks for the info. I am not sure who to use but I feel better with a big name like AAA rather than an unknown. I am going to head back to Alaska in Aug this year and do a Turquoise to Twin Lakes 7 day hike in the outback and am very excited about it. I want the insurance with all the connections and things I hate to put out all this money and miss the trip. Thanks again and I will post some GREAT pic when I get back.

spent 1st week of april with 4 women and 10 dogs between 2 rooms in flooding area for Spinone Specialty. glad it wasnt this week since the earthquake was there this week! still though, had a good time. Lucca and I did his 2nd hunt test in the rain last Sunday but we got a better score than earlier in the week. Since I don't hunt he probably knows more than me! break from dealing with Mom's issues very welcome. Best of all, I think Spring is finally here! K
