We have never had a bad experience on our drive, be sure and stop at all the hot springs along the way they are very enjoyable. Buy a milepost from a book store like barnes and noble and use it. It gives you exact information mile by mile as you drive. We use it every time. Actually we are leaving about mid May for Alaska. Our youngest son still lives up there and he purchased a travel trailer here locally (we are in Benton City in esatern WA) and we are driving it up to he and his wife. It will probably take us about 2 weeks to get to Anchorage but we will stop in Haines to visit my hubby's sister. We have made it from SEA to ANC or vice versa in as little as 72 hours and as long as three weeks depending on what we want to do each trip.
