About Me: I am a 47 yr old single female. I have lived in AK since 1996. I have dreamed of living in the bush since I was just about 10 yrs old. When my daughter was 10 we moved to a bush cabin way out past Fox, AK. My roomie and I lived there for a yr. She had a hard first yr and left. My daughter and I moved to a travel trailer and lived there for the next yr and a half. We were considered "on the edge" Where we were, we were far enough out to be way beyond the sidewalks but close enough that we could work a few days per week. I transfered with my job to where I am now, out of the anchorage area. I still have dreams of the bush life. I dont know how that one will play out at this time in my life due to health reasons but I will not give up the dream totally. My thoughts, dreams, planning, and preperations that I am doing still have a tie to bush living. I am in the process of rebuilding/remodeling my house I am living in right now. I just had a large area cleared to put in a greenhouse and a very large garden. Where ever I end up I am looking at an underground house with a masonry heater/stove. I am also looking at wind and solar.
Music: I love old rock and old country.
Movies: Alone in the Wilderness-- Braving Alaska-- Last of the Dog Men-- Dances with Wolves-- Jeremiah Johnson-- I like many different kinds of movies.
TV: I havent had a TV that was connected to anything since I moved to Alaska in 1996.
Books: Self Sufficiency, wilderness survival, winter camping and winter survival, local plants. How to books. Foreageing, preservation, canning, drying, gardening, animal husbandry, hunting, hide tanning, hide sewing... anything that relates to Alaska and traditional alaska native living. Madicinal plants, natropathic medicine.
Likes: Self Sufficiency, local plants, foreageing, preservation, canning, drying, gardening, animal husbandry, hunting, hide tanning, hide sewing...anything that relates to Alaska and traditional alaska native living. Madicinal plants, natropathic medicine. Home schooling my son.
    Hobbies: Too many to list.
    Vices: Computer
Heroes: My grandmom and Dad. They were the folks that shaped who I am today... My grandmom for giving me values and for showing me the way. My dad for teaching me I can do anything and believeing in me to see it through.
