I travel quite a bit for my job and carry my camera everywhere. My wife likes to hike with me on my treks, but sometimes I feel guilty wanting to set up for a shot, getting the tripod out, swapping lens...you know the routine. I have enjoyed your blog and will continue to follow your photographic journeys.
Wayde, beautiful colors, great subjects. Glad to hear you will go back. Know you are looking forward to the AWA Safaris and we are waiting for pictures. Hope to get my leg taken care of so I can join you again.
Wayde, I love the red eyed frog great job. Looks like you had a great time. What a lucky guy you are to have souch a great job.
Take care and I am looking forward to pic from your next adventure.
Have a great time with AWA!
It sounds like an amazing place. I would definitely like to go on a trip next year. I actually missed going out on a photo tour this year. Photographing around here is fun, but it's just not the same! ;-)
When do you think that the dates will be identified for next year? I know that it seems early, but I am right now in the process of writing my training class calendar for 2009. Once the dates are published it becomes harder to make changes.....not impossible, just a little harder.
My trip to Vegas with Kathy was great! We actually both wished that it had been longer. Once we landed we wandered out to the canyons and had fun watching the light change the landscape as the clouds passed through and the sun set. Sunday morning we meandered around the strip. Kathy took a tumble in some bushes in the efforts to get a good photo! I'm not sure if she has posted the sacrificial photo or not. We had a relaxing afternoon of massages!!! Then caught a great birthday dinner and Cirque de Soleil's Beatles tribute show "Love". I'm a big Beatles freak so this was incredible!
It was really great to connect with her again.....see what you started?
Great action photography. Looks like you could stand anywhere you wanted. As with other pictures in your blog, I like the facial expressions that you capture. You might explain to all of us about shooting the grey card to set up the white balance. I'm completely lost on that one and could have maybe used it when I tried some action shots at a basketball game. Looking forward to more wonderful pictures and words of wisdom.
I'm doing well.....back to 100%! Thanks for asking.
Things here have slowed down a bit. With the economy as it is, training tends to get postponed. This is actually allowing me to have a little more normalcy! I'm actually getting caught up on some things that were piling up, so it's working out.
This weekend the olympic trials for kayak and canoe are being held here at the national whitewater center. So, I'm going to go over there with my camera and see what I can find.
The Costa Rica trip is coming up soon. I can't wait to see your pics!
Thanks for taking a peek at a few of my shots. I'll be uploading more once I've settled in. Looking at your Great portfolio, you've covered much of our state already. My ambition is to shoot more variety as well.
Took a look at your exif and it shows you are shooting Canon, we are in the same field, but on different sides of the fence as I shoot Nikon. Both great boxes!
Looking forward to good fellowship.
I guess that would mean my bear picture literally was a Kodak moment.
I appreciate you getting back to me on my question.
Is Spring coming to Anchorage, yet, or are you still shoveling out like we did this morning?
MN (at least where I am south of the cities), got a good 5" of really wet, highly treacherous slippery snow. I'm looking forward to Spring.
Happy Vernal Equinox and a beautiful "however you celebrate" time of year,
I'm actually pretty close to back to normal. I actually went to the gym tonight!
